Biography of Thomas Zessman

Thomas Zessman is the owner of Sales Tax Solutions in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. A sales & use tax practitioner for nearly 20 years, Mr. Zessman’s career began at the Minnesota Department of Revenue where he was a sales & use tax field auditor. He then spent five years at Ernst & Young, where he was in charge of their Minneapolis sales & use tax practice. Mr. Zessman practiced in the same capacity at Deloitte & Touche for seven years. In 2001, he founded Sales Tax Solutions. His company focuses on refund recovery studies, state tax audit representation, and training his client’s tax and clerical personnel in the proper administration of sales & use taxes. A frequent speaker on sales & use tax matters, Mr. Zessman teaches various tax courses for the Minnesota Society of CPAs and has lectured for numerous organizations, including the Tax Executives Institute, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the National Business Institute. He received his education at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, BSB, and is a certified member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation (IPT).
